Before I switched to an interior design major in college at Louisiana State University, I was a journalism major, writing for the award winning student newspaper The Reveille as well as contributing to the LSU magazine, Legacy. After discovering my love of all things design, I thought my passion for writing would have to take a backseat. Fortunately, I’ve been incredibly lucky to figure out a way to combine both my loves. I write in the design field daily on local and national design blogs, as well as occasionally write for local magazines.
I am a daily blogger on behalf of the great city of Austin for Apartment Therapy, on the LA city page. I help to seek out the Austin design resources that match the overall mission and goal of Apartment Therapy: “Helping people make their homes more beautiful, organized and healthy by connecting them to a wealth of resources, ideas and community online and to connect people to the resources they need to improve their homes, while reducing their reliance on stuff.”

I had the pleasure of contributing to the amazing Mankind Mag, the online ‘zine of the popular and inspiring blog Design for Mankind. I collaborated with an old friend, Trustin Aillet, to produce this article for the “Let’s Just Be Friends” issue. The article.

Though it ended up not being printed (due to the magazine folding before the publish date!) I’m quite proud of the article I wrote for the dearly departed local magazine Odic Force about local furniture artisan Michael Yates. Photography by the lovely Cory Ryan.
I had the pleasure of contributing to the renter’s advice site Rentwiki on behalf of not only the great city of Austin, but also several of its wonderful neighborhoods.
